Letters to a Young Manager

The Next Salary Increase, #554
LTYM >

Please note that this letter is in-process; the following are my notes

Dear Adam,
***
In a career with regular promotions and salary growth, there comes a point where the next salary increase doesn't matter. Your security needs are being met (Maslow) and you crave more meaning. When did this happen for me? Probably when I left Wall Street in 1989?, about 12 years into my career? That was not half-time! When did I turn 50? In 2002 (I was at Save the Children and already started NetHope, which were already my "significance" moves.)
***
Sincerely yours,
Ed
